but here are some baby pictures
She recently turned one and it's hard to believe she grew so much. Her eyes aren't really red but here are some cute baby pictures -- from back when her head was proportional to the rest of her body :p

In running/training news, I've been doing crunches/back thingies and am ramping up my mileage (ha for me that's not saying much!). Hopefully tomorrow I will get in a few hours at Heron Park (on the Foys to Blacktail trail) -- although Iris scared me by telling me it's mountain lion central out there. I will carry a big stick for poking mean giant kitties.

Danni, Love your website. Keep it up.
Adorable, adorable Sonja. Hey, This weekend I read "Stalked by a Mountain Lion: Fear, Fact, and the Uncertain Future of Cougars in America" by Jo Deurbrouck. (I might talk about it on my soggy bloggy). And even though I was in more danger driving to work than on my solitary snowy run this morning, I have to say, those darn (grisly!) stories did enter my mind. Especially since several involved female ultra runners. I kept looking behind me. As if! And making me look more like prey. Sigh. Is my bubble of naivete burst forever? Forget the big stick. I'm thinking Winchester! I mean, just in case it doesn't knock me over from the back, which is what they do. I've also, while running, been working on the details of a really versatile backpack that would save me. For example, it has a face on it.
I love the backpack idea!!! A big scary face!!! I guess at some point you have to accept the risks of trail running. It detracts a little from the fun but is still worth it. I stay away from scary books like that.
