NOT A WHITE CHRISTMAS
For Christmas I met up with my brother Dave, SIL Tina and neice Stella at my Grandma's house in Arizona. I got in a couple good runs while there -- wearing shorts! The picture above is on Mount Picacho on Christmas morning. I wussed out sadly on that adventure because it became a little technical for me all alone. There were rocks to be climbed via pulling myself up cables, and I was scared :p
The above picture is where I turned around. I ran into a really nice group on my way back who invited me to finish the hike with them -- they offered to share food and water even. I figured I should head back to Grandma's though.
This part I managed! A lot of steep rock on Mount Picaco!
Below is the star of the show, Miss Stella. She is a really cute and happy baby!!!
Below is my ultimate poser picture. I was really overheating in the longsleeve shirt. It's a scary reminder of how important acclimitazation is for Western States -- I am not used to heat.
Below is from Ted and my Solstice Celebration. We spent Christmas apart so we celebrated the solstice. Ted made me the hat. 
I'll be back soon with snowy pictures -- I am going for a snowshoe hike today!

I would love a run in the Arizona desert right now! Winter has been fun, and the backcountry trip yesterday was awesome, but to follow it up with a desert run in shorts would be so nice! (and don't feel bad...I'm afraid of exposure too...so the cables and handrail parts would have turned me around as well...guess I'll never be much of a climber..)

I am with Leslie, Arizona sounds wonderful right now. Your in shorts!!! I had to go buy some more long tights today. I only have 1 pair and it looks like I will be needing a lot!
Keith, you guys should do a Grand Canyon R2R2R and invite me along. That would be fun.
Rooster, it sounds like things warmed up for you!!! What a messy melt that must be!!!

R2R, then a loveley lodge overnight with good food and comfy beds, then R2R next morning!
And of course you are invited! When should we go?

The lodge on the North Rim is open May 15 and closes on October 15. Also, it appears that the road to the North Rim is closed until May. We could run with bivys though. . . you include kraft dinner in your "good food" right? Or I guess we can wait until fall :-)
How about May 20th and 21st for the run? (Lodge on North Rim on the night of the 20th) I could make that work...it's mid week, but whp wants to work anyway?!

Geeeez. Looks like you've got a new stalker! Glad you enjoyed,"Not a white Christmas"... The boy appears to be serious about doing a R2R, cocktails and sleep, and
R2R. He isn't quite ready for a R2R2R just yet! I'll drop you a note with some ideas...
