May as well ride this train. . .

I realize how incredibly sadly pathetic it is to be so pleased with myself over winning an age group award in a tiny marathon with the finish time I had but since I've never done so in a marathon I'm going to ride the self-congratulatory lame train as long as I can.  And since blogging is profoundly egocentric to begin with, I may as well go full bore.  Iris took this picture of me accepting my award:

Yay me!  Super awesome!
The results have been posted and I was 12th woman out of 92, 3rd out of 28 in the 30-39F and 33rd overall out of 183.  I may as well enjoy this morsel of awesome since I always, literally, place last or close to last at trail ultras.

Go, Danni! You deserve to be proud. Flaunt it if you got it.

Woohoo, Danni! Great job! We have to relish the victories we stumble upon! I'm still glowing from my 2nd place AG award at Rio Del Lago, just don't ask how many were in my age group...minor details like that don't matter :-)

Paige I read your race report and meant to tell you AWESOME job and way to get right back on the horse. You're awesome.

Oh, keep on gloating. Since I have nothing to gloat about I might as well enjoy somebody else's achievements.

There are a lot more pathetic things that come to mind than you being excited about doing so well! I will also add that you are starting to sare me: if you show up at a marathon in Denmark, I am in trouble.

Oops. I meant scare. Not sare. I wonder what sare means...

Nice job!!! :) I've won races with suuuper slow times, but still celebrate them -- you totally should too!!!

I love your mountain photos. :) Crazy that you've had snow already. I'm in interior Alaska and we don't have anything yet.

The way we look at it, you can only race the folks who show up that day - so Live it Up!!!

Thanks everyone!!! SLG I am too lazy to ever run as fast as you don't worry. But I might have to come run a marathon in Denmark. Why not.

3rd place is 3rd place! Enjoy. If it is lame, then I am also lame for getting a 3rd in CdA in 2005. Hey, it's not Boston, but I'm not Paula, either! :)
