This weekend my girlfriends and I drove to Sun Valley for the Boulder Mountain Tour, which is a giant cross-country ski race/tour. We opted for the half, which was 15k. Allison, Deb and I used our classic XC skis, and were nearly the only people to do so. We held up the rear nicely I think.
Since I'm tapering for Susitna, I thought it important to take things slow, fuel well with all beer available on the course, and simply soak in the sun. I succeeded on all fronts.
It was a beautiful and fun weekend. I kept thinking while skiing: "I am so lucky -- I am so privileged -- how did I get so lucky?" I am always aware of the fact that my life is a combination of choice/path and privilege. I was born into a life where I could choose a path that allows me to live this life. I do not take it for granted.
Next up: Dogtooth Dash in Golden, BC.

I could so get behind something like this! :)
Yes, you do not let life just happen. You do things. Go big or go home, you know? You know. I'm so glad you had an awesome weekend!
Wow, I am so jealous of those big blue skies. Can I swap it for some of our drab damp greyness?
This is gorgeous on all levels. I still want to be you when I grow up.
