MUSIC
A blog I dig (Melissa Byers' Crossfit Blog) asked people to select their one single favorite Crossfit-doing-song and I've been checking out peoples' choices and having a lot of fun doing it but have exhausted the suggestions there. So, stealing from her, if you had to pick one song for running or exercise, you know, a song that picks you up when you need it, what song would it be? Well, ok, pick your top 3. It's probably too hard to pick one.
This blog allows anonymous comments so you can share without identifying yourself if you're embarassed or just don't want me to know that you read my blog. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm begging for more tunes! Think of it as helping me out since I'm working on my Western States playlist. Which is probably just as important as the training really. I promise your choices will go on my playlist. So, if you really just want to torture me, here's your chance.
I'll start. Lately, I've been running to (and enjoying):
1) Let the Drummer Kick -- Citizen Cope
2) Crystal -- New Order
3) Sex on Fire -- Kings of Leon
I'm going to be bummed if no one plays along. Just so you know.

12 comments:
1) Nosferatu Man - Slint
2) Vuh - Popul Vuh
3) I can't feel nothin' - Captain Beyond
1) Misty Mountain Hop -- Led Zeppelin
2) Watcher of the skies -- Genesis
3) 1983 -- a merman I should turn to be -- Jimi Hendrix
1) Run Around Sue - Dion and the Belmonts (LOVE this song, peppy!)
2) The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
3) Heaven - Brett Dennen
Great post idea!
Great idea. Okay, I am going to be brave and list a few that others would probably (rightly) be embarrassed of, so if you want to permanently kick me off your blog, then I will understand, but I am telling you, these songs will put some spring in your step!
1) The Cup of Life (La Copa de la Vida) - Ricky Martin
2) Desire - U2
3) Let's Get Loud - Jennifer Lopez
4) Song 2 - Blur
5) Ain't No Easy Way - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
6) Music is My Hot Hot Sex - Cansei de Ser Sexy
7) SOS - Rihanna (which is basically a remix of Tainted Love by Soft Cell, which I am partial to, but I gotta admit the Rihanna song is good for running)
Was I supposed to put only 3? Oops!
I'm going to have to steal ideas from other commenters here, since my playlist is in need of updating.
I don't have any songs off the top of my head - but do love Ted's bread. Of course, I am his sister.
Kate, music for running/workout out isn't necessarily music you would just sit and listen to. No need to be embarassed. I greatly appreciate your contribution.
Paige, can't wait to check those out!
Lucia, Ted is so happy someone has commented on his bread.
1) The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song - Flaming Lips
2) Feeling So Real or Run On - Moby
3) Hard Sun - Eddie Vedder*
#3 is kind of slow but it is usually sunny here!
(I really need new tunes)
I'm hoping Ted will make us bread in Tahoe. :-)
