Quickly checking in
I "timed out" at mile 70.7 of the Western States 100 after my feet were such a mess that I was hurting too badly to run. I tried to get them fixed in Foresthill, which seemed like it was going to work, but it was just far too uncomfortable to continue. I'm really disappointed right now but will get over it. I'll give a fuller report later. The upshot is that although my feet are still a mess and it's tough to walk on them, I'm ok.

70 Miles! Damn, straight Danni. You are tough. Now, I told you NOT to run in the ski boots...
70 miles at Western States - I know you might be disappointed, but that is AMAZING! So proud of you!
Can't wait for the full report! I think 70 miles is pretty damn impressive.
Sorry to hear about your feet. I think there are only 2 things that can kill a race. One of them is horrible blisters. The other is horrible stomach issues.
Get them healed up and I can't wait to hear what's next.
How do you do that 40 miles further than my best effort.
Well done.
I'm sorry, Danni! I hope you're coming to peace with this. Soooooo many people DNFed this weekend, very tough, tough conditions.
You should be proud of your effort!
Thinking of you,
Meghan
Sorry you got timed out. It's a bummer for you and a lot of other people too. It doesn't seem fair to have such strict cutoff times in a race that's so hard to get into, you never know when you'll get a second chance. Anyway, I'm just glad to hear you're ok. So don't beat yourself up about it, you did great!

An amazing accomplishment! Sorry that you are disappointed. : (
I know you had hoped for more, but you should be proud of how far you made it - truly unbelievable.
and --- ow! ow! ow! that sounds so painful.
Leslie, I just couldn't help myself. I'm cheap and thought this would be a better way to heat mold the liners.
Thanks everyone for your kindness and support. It's a silly thing to have let get the best of me but I think I've learned me a little lesson or two.
