I ran a half marathon
Saturday I ran the Snow Joke half marathon in Seeley Lake for, I believe, the fourth time. I finished, according to my watch, in 1:53:29. Last year I finished in 1:52:59 (I think). So, pretty close. The differences were that 1) I haven't been running this year hardly, 2) I ran without Sonja this year and 3) I kept an even pace for almost the whole race. I made it my goal to maintain an 8:30 pace start to finish, and I stayed on pace until around mile 10 or 11 when I slowed a bit. The race is hilly and at 4,000 feet so I actually feel pretty good about my run. Especially given the fact that I've been running about 10-15 miles per week on average. So, I'm not sure what the take away is, but maybe it won't be so much work to re-qualify for Boston, especially now that I only need a 3:45 (I turn 35 this summer and will be bumped into the next age group). Or, maybe, running more miles doesn't help me especially. Who knows.
Yesterday I skiied and it was another great day. I made it down the moguled black run and fell only once. The snow was really soft which helped on the moguls but made it really hard to ski the normal slopes. It was like wet cement. Ouch.

Your Saturday beat the pants off my Saturday and wrapped them around her head.
You totally rock.
Thanks -- *you* rock and are totally hilarious.
Good seeing you Danni if only for a few minutes!
Nice work Danni. It say's you haven't lost any fitness and with the lack of training you described you might have built in some endurance over that last few years. Good job.
Iris sorry I didn't get to hang with you more.
Yeah Ronda I think I have muscle/endurance memory. Pretty sweet! With training I might be able to run faster than I did 5 years ago maybe :-)
Nice job on the half! That is a great time for the mileage you run - I'm jealous - must be thanks to natural talent and muscle memory. BQ is within reach! Way to tackle the moguls, too!!
