This weekend seven of us spent the weekend hiking in Glacier National Park. We car camped near St. Mary and hiked to Canada on Saturday (Two Medicine to Ptarmigan Tunnel to Belly River to Chief Mountain border crossing). Sunday we hiked to Iceberg Lake, which was gorgeous though rainy. It was a fantastic weekend and so fun-filled I still have a mountain hangover.

It's definitely turning to fall here. As I type, my fingers are a little numb from my morning run. Gloves would have been good. I'm excited for the snow to fly so I can get to work building my Susitna sled and return to the work of learning to ski. Before then, however, I am going to eek out every bit of hiking/trail running I can. I'm finally back in the spirit of things -- just as our very short summer is threatening to end. Lots of good stuff on tap though.

Jealous! Looks simply stunning, and a girls weekend spent hiking sounds fantastic to me. Enjoy the waning days of summer.
Why is that everyone and their sister are getting girl's hiking weekend out, and I get none - neither hiking, no girflriends? I need me a move across some Rocky Mountains, or something...Looks wonderful!
Your seasonal approach to exercise fascinates me. Running and hiking completely disappear in the winter, huh? I guess when there's that much snow and you want to avoid roads, it's the only way. Anyway, yep, there is still some summer and a bunch of fall left. Beautiful pics, by the way!
Olga next summer if you make it out we can have lots of hiking fun!
SLG, I really prefer the seasonal approach. I feel like it makes me better at all the activities. Hiking in the winter = ski touring :-)
Very cool pictures. I however am not ready for winter. The rain can hold off a bit but I can tell it's cooling off.
