Nothing to see here

While in Billings -- soon after my last blog post in fact -- I broke my toe in my apartment.  I really needed a snack and couldn't be bothered to turn on lights or slow my pace as I headed full-speed towards the pantry.  Or the kitchen island... I can't run for at least a couple more weeks.  Could be a few more weeks.  I can barely walk really.  I am more fully appreciating how important being outside is to my mental health.  It's not even just being able to run -- if I could go for a little hike I'd be pretty happy.  I may see if I can take my cruiser out for a spin today -- I think my bike shoes would hurt brokey the toe if I tried to take my real road bike out.  Anyhow, I don't care for injuries.  Especially stupid careless pointless injuries.  Of course, Grandma posits that it was my body's way of telling me I exercise too much.  LOL.

I understand completely how you are feeling! Which toe did you break?

That stinks. :( Are you able to bike in sandals? That might not hurt your toe as much. Hope Brokey the Toe feels better soon.

Danni - Ack. Boy do I know that frustration. I stubbed a big toe last year and stretched ligaments (I'd rather have a fracture). It's still an issue on occasion. I hope you heal PERFECTLY!

Right now I'm nursing a strained arch (related? not sure).

If you can walk or bike, it's still better than nothing. I can't stay inside, I go nuts.

That's crap. Make sure you feed yourself mindfully while your hubby wheels you outside for mental health!

Iris the one next to my pinkie toe. Not the end of the world.

Thanks Karen.

mtnrunner -- ouch ouch ouch. I hope whatever is causing all those foot problems goes away. That sounds awful.

Olga, I can be a gymrat at least to avoid getting fatter. I do need to clean up my diet injuries aside. I am so inspired by you!

oh no! that blows!

take care of yourself and heal fast so that you can be back to 100% and not re-injure it.

and the snacking injury part of this story? well, that's just too perfect.

Have you thought about putting platform pedals on your road bike? When I had frostbite and had to wear a silly medical sandal on my foot for six weeks, I had to do a lot more indoor exercise but stayed sane by putting an overboot over my sandal and going for easy rides outside. If you don't have extra platforms you could always ask Dave C. for loaners, or take them off your cruiser.

Hope the snow is at least melting up there by now. Heal quick! Oh, and come to North Dakota in May! A four-day run on the Mah da hey should do wonders for recovery.
